Routes to success

Isis Innovation works in partnership with researchers

Working across the breadth and depth of all University divisions, Isis provides researchers with advice and support on any matter concerning the commercialisation of research.

Isis Technology Transfer manages the University’s intellectual property portfolio, working with University researchers to identify, protect and market technologies through licensing, spin-out company formation, and material sales.

Isis funds patent applications and legal costs, negotiates exploitation and spin-out company agreements, and provides access to translational investment funds for the development of technologies.

Through Oxford University Consulting, Isis provides practical support to both researchers and departments wishing to undertake consultancy or provide technical services.

Oxford Network

Isis Innovation is part of a strong network and infrastructure across the University which supports researchers, innovation and entrepreneurship. We all aim to work closely together – please phone us and we will put you in touch with the right person, if we can’t help.

Research Services

Research Services works in partnership and with colleagues across the University to provide comprehensive support to researchers across the research lifecycle.

This service:

  • supports the grant process

  • negotiates contracts and agreements

  • advises on costing and pricing of research

  • supports University and Divisional research-related planning

  • promotes responsible conduct of research and compliance with regulatory and sponsor requirements

  • provides information on funding opportunities

  • supports and facilitates technology transfer and knowledge exchange

Knowledge Exchange (KE)

Wider engagement with society is one of Oxford’s core strategic objectives.

KE and impact (the demonstrable contribution that excellent research makes to society and the economy) lead the government agenda on higher education, and are of keen interest to other research funders and industry.

The Knowledge Exchange and Impact Team (KEIT) within Research Services supports, promotes and coordinates KE and impact activities across the University, including the KE Network.

Business Development Team, Medical Science Division

Business Development Medical Sciences is a team of dedicated business development and partnership managers offering industrial partners a single point of access to Oxford’s researchers as well as to NHS resources through our partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust (OUHT).
